This Wednesday will be the last “Wednesday Night World Championship” of 2010 with the time changing November 7. There is traditionally an after ride celebration in the parking lot that follows the last ride…..come on out for the ride and see what happens. Do not fear! The Wednesday Worlds will be back when the time changes back in the Spring. Weekend rides will continue to begin at their same times after the time changes until it gets too cold and then they will be moved a bit later.
Team, The weather looks like it will be perfect for our criteriums. If you have not registered yet, please register. Race day will cost $10 more. We just got back from the course and the big registration tent is being set up by Ainsworth Trucking and the course has two individuals with industrial blowers cleaning the entire course. 200 cones will be delivered at Whataburger Field at 9am tomorrow morning along with 60 hay bails. This year we will have help from CC Hooks staff to move hay bails. Please show up and help for a couple of hours if you can. If you have a truck, BRING IT! We also need to show up if possible around 4pm as the officials and race announcer are setting up and we can be available to tweek on the course if needed. Thanks, Aaron Haspel
Fellow Cyclists, Due to the loss of daylight the ride times for the Tuesday and Wednesday night rides have been moved to 5:30 pm beginning tomorrow!!! (Lamar Park Shopping Center) Also the start times for the weekend rides times are now 7:30 am from Lamar Parking Shopping Center and the Robstown ride on Saturday that leaves from the old HEB at Everhart and Sarratoga (Jack-in-the-Box).
Team, SEPTEMBER 24th Crit under the lights: We are lucky enough to have a couple of volunteers with the registration and one day license sales for the races. John Bratton and an ex-Baylor Bear bicycle racer, Rick Spruill. Craig will not be racing myself soheI will do like he did last year and run around helping where ever needed. Last year we had a decent showing to help set up the course but we need more help this year. What we need now are commitments from everyone. Traffic cones will be dropped along with a trailer full of hay bails at 9am, Friday the 24th. The more people helping set up the course the less wear it will be on each person. We need to set up early so we can rest our bodies prior to the crit. With good participation we should be done with the bulk of the course by 11am. Mark had a truck last year that was a huge help with the hay bails. If anyone else has a pickup that would be great also. If you can not be at the course by 9am, we need teammates/spouses or friends to show up around 2pm to help set up the start/finish line and organize our registration/prize area. Please email at craighottell@aol.com with the following information; What time you can be at Whataburger Field Friday the 24th Email address you want me to use Your cell phone number Thanks, Team ALS Ps. If you know of any team members that we missed on this email, please forward to them and give their email address to Aaron. Pss. Log onto TXBR/Bikereg and register for the race.
